INDICATIONS: A browlift is indicated in patients with eyebrows descending below their orbital rims, resulting in a heavier upper eyelid appearance and a tired or angry look. This procedure, along with a blepharoplasty, can significantly rejuvenate the upper face. Patients look years younger and happier. Not all men are candidates for this procedure because of the potential for receding hairlines and male pattern baldness.
SURGERY: The surgery takes approximately 1.5 hours. Anesthesia is required. The endoscopic approach requires 5 small incisions behind the hairline in order to tighten the brow in all the appropriate vectors (directions) and achieve a natural and more rested and youthful appearance. An Endotine is used to fix the brow in the appropriate position. This is placed beneath the scalp and behind the hairline, and will dissolve.
POST OPERATIVE: This is an outpatient procedure, and patients will go home afterwards, unless additional procedures are being performed where an overnight stay is requested. The patient may shower and wash their hair 48 hours after the procedure. Results are evident immediately. Sutures, staples, and any other hardware, are removed the following week. Patients may return to work 7-10 days after surgery with little evidence of bruising and swelling, in most cases. Results last approximately 7 years, but you are always ahead of the curve once the procedure is done. It can be repeated safely.
RISKS AND COMPLICATIONS: These are discussed with your surgeon on your initial and preoperative consultations.
All of our procedures are performed using our proprietary Logical SequenceSM methodology.
