INDICATIONS: This surgery is indicated for patients who want a rested and more youthful appearance to their face and neck, without the pulling and distortion often associated with standard facelift/necklift surgery. It is designed for all ages, but especially for patients starting to notice neck laxity, jowls, and facial laxity. It works exceptionally well in the patient requiring just a little tightening, to the patient with significant skin laxity and a turkey gobbler deformity. Age ranges for the surgery are from the later 30’s to the 80’s. It is a safe surgery with reproducible results, and virtually no pain. Results are immediate and recovery is fast. Many patients are known to safely repeat the procedure at 5-7 years to maintain a more youthful appearance and profile. If you want to look better; not different; this may be the procedure for you.
SURGERY: The procedure is performed in a State of the Art Surgery Center with anesthesia. It takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. Skin incisions are hidden in the hairline or in natural facial creases, such as the earlobe crease. The underlying tissue of the face (SMAS) and neck are tightened in multiple natural vectors (directions) and the facial and neck skin is then tightened in several more natural vectors (directions). The tissues are handled in a gentle and precise manner in order to minimize bruising and swelling.
POST OPERATIVE: Patients are keep overnight for observation and icing. You are sent home the following morning with the appropriate prescriptions and printed instructions. Our staff is available 24/7 for questions and concerns. Patients may shower and wash their hair 48 hours after surgery. Sutures are removed one week after surgery. Out of town patients are asked to stay in Cleveland for one week for adequate follow up. Patients exhibit excellent results the day following surgery, minus some bruising and swelling. Patients are not permitted to exercise for 4 weeks post surgery unless specified by our office.
